​BVMites observe ‘World Soil Day’
World Soil Day’ was observed at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, USN, with the purpose of creating awareness about the importance of soil for food security. Students prepared slogans like ‘No food without soil’, ‘Soil is life, conserve it’ etc. to protect the mother earth. BVMites also participated enthusiastically in sapling plantation. Mrs. Kiran Bala (TGT Science) enlightened the students with the importance of our natural resource, Soil. She acquainted the students with issues affecting  quality of soil e.g. climate change, microbial growth, soil borne diseases, contamination of soil with radioactive materials, thus affecting fertility and human health. She urged students to make efforts to prevent soil erosion and soil pollution by planting more trees which would boost the health of soil and unlock its full potential. The Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi laid stress on the need of healthy soil to ensure the essential resources, it provides’. She encouraged the students to stop damaging it by properly disposing non-biodegradable substances and contribute to cure the ailing mother Earth.
