BVM, USN holds CBSE Capacity Building Programme on ‘Classroom Management’
‘A teacher is a life-long learner’. The teaching fraternity has to keep abreast with the ever changing techniques, multiple skills and the mindset of the students thereby. Keeping this in view a two days CBSE Capacity Building Programme on ‘Classroom Management’ was organized at BVM, USN today. The workshop commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the resource persons, principal & coordinators. An informative and interactive workshop was conducted by the highly knowledgeable and experienced resource persons Dr. Navneet Kaur (Principal of Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Ludhiana) and Mrs. Sakshi Saggar (Psychologist at The Millennium School, Amritsar). The workshop was divided into two sessions. About 68 facilitators from the host school and 5 from St. Thomas School, Ludhiana attended the workshop. Teachers were made to sit in groups according to the allotted numbers. On the first day, prime focus was to train teachers in dealing with the challenges faced by them to make the teaching-learning process more effective. Dr. Navneet Kaur emphasized that the teacher can facilitate learning through motivation, by creating a lively, playful, experiential learning and student friendly environment. She suggested the measures for effective classroom management by VARK learning, better motivation communication skills, efficient planning along with resolute and purposeful class governance. The session was made interesting with individual and group case study activities which can act as invaluable teaching aids. At the same time Mrs. Sakshi Saggar distinguished between the classroom management and classroom organization. She further advised the teachers to practice compassion and kindness as the two important factors to manage their classrooms efficiently. Teachers were also given real life situations to discuss, after which workable solutions were listed and presented by each group. The first day of the workshop helped the teachers to empower with measures and techniques to nurture and support the young minds by providing a congenial and healthy environment.
The Principal, Mrs. Bandana Sethi applauded the resource persons for their laborious efforts and the session of day one culminated with Vande Matram.
