​BVM USN marks birth anniversary of The Nightingale of India « 13/Feb/2021

BVM USN commemorated birth anniversary of 'The Nightingale of India', Sarojini Naidu virtually , with immense zeal and enthusiasm today. Multiple online activities were conducted to recognize power voices of women in India's history. Students of class VII to X passionately participated in ' Role-play '  activity, depicting the lives of great women who strived for the emancipation of society. The girls showcased their acting skills and confidence by sharing short yet exceptionally amazing videos portraying as  Kiran Bedi (first woman IPS), Ngangom Bala (India's first woman footballer), Sheela Dawre(first auto driver) and many more. Chahatpreet Kaur ( XII) through  her speech enlightened the BVMites with the life history and achievements of the first woman Governor of India, a proponent of civil rights ,women empowerment and a prominent figure in India's freedom struggle .It was her extraordinary poetry that earned her the sobriquet 'The Nightingale of India'.  Dr Sakshi (alumnus of BVM ) virtually exhorted Bhartiyans to hold high spirits and walk towards their goals courageously to achieve success. Addressing the students, Principal  Mrs Ranju Mangal, said that gone are the days when people considered females as a weak section of the society but now the tables have turned they are getting better in every field as compared to men.. She further encouraged students to become the best versions of themselves by working harder and practicing persistence.
