BVM USN Radiates Divine Spirit on Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Utsav

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar, resonated with divine hymns and spiritual devotion as the school celebrated the Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji—the revered founder of Sikhism and the eternal messenger of peace, truth and humanity. The celebration beautifully echoed Guru Ji’s timeless message of compassion, equality and selfless service.
The celebration commenced with soulful Shabad Gayan by the school choir, which filled the atmosphere with deep reverence and serenity. Plaksha (Class VIII D) presented a heartwarming student talk, reflecting on Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings and their profound relevance in the modern world.A Prabhat Pheri through the campus infused the environment with divine energy, followed by the Panj Pauri Paath, recited with utmost devotion by the entire BVM family. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of the Management Members of BVM Trust—Shri P.C. Goyal Ji (Secretary), Shri Rajeev Puri Ji (Joint Secretary) and Shri D.D. Sharma Ji (Member)—whose blessings and inspiring words enlightened all. During his address, Shri P.C. Goyal Ji shared that he had appealed to the Punjab Government not to declare holidays on the birth anniversaries of the great saints, so that students may gather in schools to learn about their divine lives and teachings and celebrate their legacy with true understanding. His words beautifully underscored the purpose of such celebrations in educational institutions.
Following the spiritual proceedings, Prasad was distributed among all. A gracefully decorated pandal set the stage, where students sat in well organized rows, partaking in the Langar, lovingly brought from their homes — symbolizing unity, equality and community spirit.Addressing the BVMites, Principal Mrs Seema Gupta urged everyone to imbibe the noble virtues of humility, service and love for humanity, as taught by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The celebration concluded with the soulful chanting of “Satnam Waheguru”, leaving everyone immersed in divine bliss and spiritual fulfillment.
