Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar celebrated the auspicious festival of Makar Sankranti with great enthusiasm, reverence and cultural spirit. The celebration aimed to sensitise students about the scientific, agricultural and moral significance of this sacred Indian festival. On this occasion, Principal Mrs Seema Gupta addressed the students with a thoughtful and inspiring message, elucidating the importance of Makar Sankranti as the day that marks the holy transition of the Sun from Dakshinayana to Uttarayana . She explained that this celestial movement signifies the gradual lengthening of days, symbolising the spread of light, warmth, positivity and new energy in our lives.
Drawing a beautiful analogy, the Principal compared this auspicious phase to the agricultural cycle, stating that just as farmers sow seeds in fertile soil, this is the ideal time for children to sow the seeds of education, values, discipline and determination. She emphasised that teachers tirelessly prepare the soil by nurturing young minds with knowledge, guidance and support, while it is the responsibility of students to nurture these seeds through hard work, dedication and perseverance to reap the fruits of success in the future. Her words deeply inspired the students, encouraging them to value education, respect their teachers and work sincerely towards their goals. She further highlighted that Makar Sankranti is not merely a harvest festival, but a celebration of new beginnings, hope, growth, and inner transformation.
