Kurash Conquest: BVM USN Sends 11 Rising Champions to Nationals
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, scripted another glorious chapter in its sporting journey with an outstanding performance at the Sub-Junior Kurash State Championship held at Patiala on August 1 & 2, 2026. The prestigious championship witnessed nearly 340 participants from 12 districts across Punjab. Adding to the celebrations, the Ludhiana Boys Team emerged as the Overall Champions while the Girls Team lifted the First Runner-Up Trophy, reaffirming the district's growing dominance in Kurash.Bringing immense pride to the school, 11 students of BVM USN have earned the honour of representing Punjab at the National Sub-Junior Kurash Championship, scheduled to be held in Ludhiana from September 4 to 7, 2026.
Gold Medallists are: Kartik Kumar (VII), Panshul Sharma (IX), Kanav Singh (IX), Kamakshi (IV), Yuvika (VII) and Aanchal (VII).
Silver Medallists are: Paramveer (V), Deevyanshu (VI), Manav (IX), Sanvi (VI) and Ashpreet (V).
Bronze Medallists are: Hargun (IV), Ronit (IV), Ishan (VII), Khushant (VI), Mihir (IX), Navish (VII), Avni (V), Vaishnavi (VI), Bhavya (V), Adrika (VII) and Anaika (VII).
This remarkable medal haul and the selection of 11 students for the national championship reflects the unwavering dedication, discipline and rigorous training of the young athletes under the able guidance of Coach Mrs. Deepika.Congratulating the achievers, Principal Mr. Pawan Sood remarked, "Our students have once again demonstrated that perseverance and disciplined effort pave the way to excellence.
