BVM, USN celebrated Earth Day with week-long educational and fun activities to support environmental initiatives and reinforce the importance of conservation and recycling. Students of classes III to V made beautiful posters to save earth. Through their paintings they gave the message to make India, our motherland as well as the whole Earth, a cleaner and greener place to live in. A go green activity was exhibited by students of classes I to III where they planted saplings in school campus. Students of classes IV to IX created artistic exhibits by using waste material focusing on the concept of 3R's reduce, reuse and recycle. An inter house declamation competition was conducted for class IX wherein students expressed their views in favour of culminating the products which cause environmental degradation. A play in the form of ‘Nukkad Natak’ was organised by students of class VIII within the school premises as well as outside the boundaries of the school in the Rose Garden to appeal to masses to keep the planet beautiful as ever. People highly applauded the efforts of the students and appreciated the contribution of the school in creating awareness every now and then on various issues.
These week long efforts of the students gained appreciation from all the members of the BVM Trust. Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi said that Earth Day is more of call for action then a celebration and motivated children to protect and make our planet pollution free.
