To mark 159th anniversary of the creation of the first authority to administer Income Tax of India, ‘Income Tax Day’ was observed at BVM, USN by conducting an interactive session for the students of IX & X. Mr. Sardar Malmina (Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax) was the special guest of the event. He made the students acquainted with the importance of the day as income tax was first levied as a duty on the same day in the year 1860. He added that tax payers are the bedrock of any nation and they are actual nation builders. Moreover the department has taken big strides in making tax administration more efficient and citizen-friendly by introducing e-filling of taxes, online viewing of the tax credit, online tracking of a tax refund etc. Mr. Raj Kumar (a teacher) made the Bhartiyans aware about their duties and responsibilities. A ‘Quiz’ based on current awareness was conducted and the winners were awarded with the jute bags holding informative messages on them like “Let’s create a clean India’, ‘Avoid plastic for clean environment’. Teachers and the future citizens took oath to file their taxes deligently and contribute for the upgrading of their native land. Sh. K.C. Maini Ji (Manager of BVM, USN) blessed the BVMites with his benign presence, Principal, Mrs. Bandana Sethi said that making tax payment is our fundamental duty and as responsible citizens we should file tax return to determine our tax obligation. The event culminated with the sapling plantation in the school premises and was followed by Vande Matram.
