To change the attitude of society towards girls, Bvm USN observed National Girl Child Day today which was initiated in 2008, by the Ministry of Women and Child Development with an main aim to spread awareness about the gender-based discrimination that girls face in the society.To improve the condition of girls several steps over the years have been taken, such as Save the Girl Child, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, free or subsidised education for the girl children, reservations for women in colleges.Mrs Gurpreet Kaur( PPRT) virtually enlightened everyone with the need to address the challenges that girls face in the Indian society due to gender biases. She also highlighted multifarious contributions made by girls to the society. She said the girls deserve a life where they are treated equal to the boys.They should be loved & respected and should be given due space and opportunity to groom themselves .
Acknowledging the pivotal role of the girls, Principal Mrs Ranju Mangal exhorted that girls are a blessing to the universe and they should be nurtured well with all dignity to build a progressive nation.
