The festival of Teej celebrates the bounty of nature and arrival of monsoon interwined with social rituals and customs. Students of BVM( USN) celebrated Teej with great joy and fervour today. Colourful Punjabi ethnic attire of the students gave magnificent touch to the day. Bhangra and giddha presented by bodacious Bhartiyans set the stage ablaze. Adding thrill to the festive occasion , adorable 'Mutiyars' and 'Gabrus' of junior wing ramp walked, majestically. Saanvi of class IV won the title of 'Miss Teej'. Folk song presented by Bhartiyans of class IV & V left everyone spellbound. Geetika (X) projected the importance of the day that it was primarily a festival celebrated by girls and women with songs and dances mainly in the northern and western parts of India. Girls were delighted to apply mehendi, play on swings, and relish teej dishes like kheer and malpua. Principal Mrs Ranju Mangal extended her greetings to everyone and motivated the students to stay connected to their culture.
