BVM,(USN) today celebrated the festival of lights with great fervor and enthusiasm. Under the campaign ‘Clean Diwali, Green Diwali’, students very earnestly cleaned and decorated their classrooms. Students of classes III – V made beautiful handmade items such as paper lanterns, candles and diya stands and displayed in their classrooms. Girls from class VIII made colourful rangoli spreading the beautiful message that Indian culture is a blend of different colours. Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi extended her warm wishes and greetings on this pious occasion and urged the children not to burst fire crackers and prevent the environment from degradation. She also persuaded the children not to buy any Chinese product and purchase only Indian goods to promote Indian small scale industry and handicrafts. Students were also motivated to respect the women to create a harmony in the society. Children pledged in the school premises, “We will celebrate green, clean and safe Diwali and we will not buy Chinese crackers or products.” They wholeheartedly expressed their willingness to spread this message among the masses to further enhance the festive spirit of the festival.
