​A doctor who was only a matriculate
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar celebrated “National Mathematics Day” to commemorate 130th Birth Anniversary of India’s great mathematician Shrinivasa Ramanujan with great zeal and enthusiasm. Mrs. Nishu Marwaha Primary block co-ordinator, acquainted the students with inspirational anecdotes from the life of Shri  Ramanujan. Children were really excited to know that Ramanujan was conferred with a Honorary PhD degree by Cambridge University, he was only a matriculate. She urged the students to overcome their Maths Phobia. Janvi, a student of class VI recited a beautiful self composed poem on Mathematics. Playing the role of Shri Ramanujan, Anmol (class V) motivated the students with the power of numbers. To generate love for the subject and break its monotony, various activities were also organized to involve the students in the mathematical magic. For Primary classes, Maths Tambola, geometrical colouring and mathematical ludo aroused huge interest as well as enhanced the creativity of students. The winners of the activities were Kavish, Taruna, Akshit (class V –Maths Tambola), Sidharth, Ayush, Bhavika (class VII – Magic Square), Hardik, Sukriti, Sanya (class III – Geometrical colouring), Anchal, Yuvraj (class VIII – Ramanujan Hardy’s Number). Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi honoured the winners with certificates. She applauded the efforts of children and teachers of Maths department and motivated the students to stay focused by involving themselves in creative experiments related with the subject.
