World Food Day is celebrated every year on 16th October, to mark the creation of UN Food and Agriculture organization (FAO). It aims to eliminate poverty, hunger and food insecurity. Bhartiya Vidya mandir celebrated this day to create an awareness about nutritious food and healthy dietary habits. An enthusiastic tiny tot ‘Radhika’ (class II) presented a beautiful poem focusing on the value of healthy food. Mrs. Rasdip Kaur (teacher) highlighted the demerits of consuming junk food, she also emphasized on wastage of food material when children are dying of starvation in the contemporary world. Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi motivated the students to develop the habit of saving food at an early age which can proov to be a way of honouring our farmers and which can also contribute in the prevention of starvation. She said, “This is the best way to serve the society.”
