It was a red letter day in the history of BVM Group of Schools as Bhartiya Vidya Mandir completes glorious journey of five decades in the field of education. Founded in tents in the year 1968, fifty years ago with only a handful of students, with limited means, BVM has flourished with the passage of years and today Bhartiyans stand tall celebrating 50th anniversary of their school. Fantabulous decoration of the school premises on this auspicious occasion caught the eye of everyone. Honouring the glorious past & creating a dazzling future, on the fourth day of jubilant week-long celebration, a cultural bonanza was organized amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. Sh. Vijay Kumar Chopra (Chief Editor and CEO of Punjab Kesari newspaper Organisation) was the honorable chief guest on the occasion. Dr Jasdeep Singh (Medical Officer Anesthesia, Civil Hospital Ludhiana) consented to be the Guest of Honour for the event. Among the other dignitaries present were BVM trust members Sh. O. P. Sabharwal Ji (President), Sh. Phool Chand Jain Ji (Vice-president), Sh. P. C. Goyal Ji (Secretary) , Sh. Manoj Gupta Ji (Joint Secretary), Sh. M. M. Bamba Ji (Treasurer), Sh. M. M. Vyas Ji (Manager USN), Sh. Shubh Karan Jain Ji (Member), Sh. R. K. Behal Ji (Member), Sh. R. K. Gupta Ji (Member), Sh. K. C. Maini Ji (Member), Principals of all four branches. The program commenced with kindling of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour and other dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion revered Chief Guest Sh. Vijay Kumar Chopra Ji delved upon the serious problem of brain drain and loss of values among youngsters. He emphasized the dire need to recreate the atmosphere of Bhartiyan Sanskriti. Charming girls dressed in beautiful attire presented ‘Saraswati Vandana dance’ followed by the sapling presentation to the eminent guests. Harshika (class 10) welcomed and introduced the worthy Chief Guest to the gathering. The cultural program started with the melodious group song ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ by budding singers, entailed by a scintillating ‘Golden jubilee dance’, a documentary ‘Swarnim Swapan’ depicting glorious journey of BVM, took one and all in the golden past. An ‘action song’ enthralled the audience spreading the message that hard work never goes unrewarded. “A sound mind lives in a sound body" was the theme of the yoga performance presented by little bhartiyans. ‘Akhir Zimmedar Kaun’ a mime highlighting the sensitive and serious concern of crime against women, touched every heart. Demanding their own space, tiny qawaals projected their feelings through a light hearted Qwali. Another highlight of the day was assamese folk dance ‘Bihu’ which was highly applauded by the audience. In Charcha-e-Paakshaala kids gave the message of adopting a healthy lifestyle. A majestic performance 'Karamyogi Shri Krishna' showcased various thoughtful messages conveyed through multi dimensions of the Avtaar Shri Krishan through Krishan Leelas. Members of BVM trust felicitated the distinguished guests by presenting souvenirs, a token of remembrance. The beautiful girls in chequered Punjabi attire set the stage ablaze with an energetic Punjabi folk dance 'Luddi' Shri P.C. Goyal Ji proposed the vote of thanks. The event culminated with national song 'Vande Mataram'.
