From a very humble beginning in 1968, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Group of Schools has grown by leaps and bounds and now stands tall and proud with impressive four buildings equipped with the latest innovations and modern technology in the city. After half a century BVM still remains committed to mould the young minds in accordance with true Bhartiya Sanskriti to successfully meet the modern challenges. The festivity of Golden Jubilee Celebrations included an array of exciting events. The celebration on the fifth day continued with the Grand cultural program at BVM, USN. The whole school wore a festive look with artistic work and twinkling lights. Shri. Sukesh Kalia Ji (Chairman Punjab Child Right Commission) was the Honorable Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr Shabnam Thind (Senior Consultant, Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College and Hospital) consented to be the Guest Of Honour for the event. Among the other dignitaries present were BVM trust members Sh. O. P. Sabharwal Ji (President), Sh. Phool Chand Jain Ji (Vice-president), Sh. P. C. Goyal Ji (Secretary) , Sh. Manoj Gupta Ji (Joint Secretary), Sh. M. M. Bamba Ji (Treasurer), Sh. M. M. Vyas Ji (Manager USN), Sh. Shubh Karan Jain Ji (Member), Sh. R. K. Behal Ji (Member), Sh. R. K. Gupta Ji (Member), Sh. K. C. Maini Ji (Member) and Principals of all four branches. The Grand event commenced with the lightning of Ceremonial lamp and paying obesience to Maa Saraswati and was entailed by the sapling presentation and pinning of badges. Shivani, the Head Girl of the school and Kashish Maini (class IX) introduced the revered Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour to the audience respectively. The welcome song ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ mesmerized the audience which was followed by dazzling ‘Golden Jubilee dance’. A moment of pride was witnessed when a documentary ‘Swarnim Swapan’ was presented depicting the legacy of five decades. An action song spreading the message that hard work leads to success thrilled the audience. Fitness of mind and Soul through sports and physical activities was the theme of rhythmic yoga and aerobics performance by budding Bhartiyans. A blend of meticulous footsteps and precise movements of Bihu dance left everyone spellbound. Little qwaals showcased their singing talent through a light-hearted Qwaali. Mime ‘Aakhir Zimedar Kaun’ based on a sensitive issue crime against women touched the tender hearts of the spectators. Tiny Tots gave the message of adopting a healthy lifestyle by eating green vegetables through Charcha-e-Pakshaala. Ruminative messages were communicated by presenting various Avatars of the Lord Krishna in the form of ‘Karamyogi Shri Krishna’. The gorgeous girls in multi-coloured traditional attires rocked the stage with their zealous folk dance ‘Luddi’. The President, Sh. O.P. Sabharwal Ji and the Secretary of BVM Trust, Sh. P.C. Goyal Ji felicitated the eminent guests and vote of thanks was proposed by Sh. P.C. Goyal Ji. The cultural bonanza culminated with Vande Mataram.
